In the Bible we can read of many different events, people, and places. But what is the major concern of the Bible? What is its content? The content of the Bible is God Himself. He is not only both the essence and origin of the Bible but also its content. From beginning to end, the Bible reveals God to us. Let us consider some Bible verses showing that God is the content of the New Testament and Old Testament.

The very first verse of the New Testament says, “The book of the generation of Jesus Christ” (Matt. 1:1). From the beginning, we see that Jesus Christ is the subject and content of the New Testament. The entire Bible, as a book of life, reveals to us this Person who came to be life to us (John 14:6; 10:10b).
